httPulse followup…

Filed under: Blog & Site Automation — macroking @ 9:31 pm

Well I posted a few days ago about httPulse, all excited about it. I’ve been waiting for a decent index tracking utility for some time, and preferably a free one. So, several days and 1 software upgrade later, I still can’t use httpulse. :(

I don’t know why exactly, and I’ve been in contact with the developers about this. Sounds like a few people just have problems with it crashing, and they aren’t sure why yet. I have volunteered my testing abilities to help them solve it, so hopefully they take me up on it as I really would like there to be a decent free utility out there for checking one’s domain indexing. Plus, I wrote a script already that automates the data entry of large lists of domains. Without it you have to enter them one by one, and if you have anything more than about 10 domains that’ll drive you crazy!

Are you an Excel Addict? You Should Be!

Filed under: Excel & Spreadsheets — macroking @ 10:34 am

I found a great new resource! Well, it’s new to me at least, but looks like it’s been around a while. It’s called The Excel Addict and it’s just jam-packed with all kinds of tips, tricks, and things that are probably in the help file and user guide, but that you’ll never go look up.

Anyway, go check it out. It may not be a flashy, fancy, “pretty” site, but who cares?! The information in it is fantastic. In fact, I’m gonna add this one to my sidebar, I like it that much.

Nickel Mania… are they NUTS??

To cut to the chase and lock in your price now, go to http://snurl.com/nickel_mania

If you ever send out links to a list or anything similar, in order to promote products or services, you really want something like Tracking Ace… read on.

There was this thing a couple weeks ago called Nickel Mania, put on by Gary Ambrose (one of the zillion or so Internet Marketers who have convinced me to join their list at some point…) It was some sort of ebook deal where he & a partner were promoting a couple of new ebooks on using eBay to catch a chunk of the christmas season.

Need to remove duplicate entries in Excel?

Filed under: Excel & Spreadsheets — macroking @ 9:09 pm

I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent filtering lists of duplicates… whether they were keywords, stock & option symbols, or anything else, handling duplicate values is a VERY common task in Excel. In the past, I’ve used many different methods to identify or remove them, all of which were, frankly, a big fat pain in the arse.

So you can likely imagine how I about jumped out of my skin when I found out about The Duplicate Master. I swear I’d like to find the author of this FREE utility and give him a big wet sloppy kiss.
