Top Affiliate Challenge Server Crashes - Ooops, My Bad!

Filed under: Marketing — macroking @ 2:09 pm

So I woke up this morning to a phone call.

Caller ID said “Thor Schrock” so of course, I answered.  The conversation went something like this:

Me:  “Hey Thor!”

Thor:  “So congratulations on your surge of trffic.  You crashed our server.”

Me:  “Uh… oops.  Sorry.”

Apparently the TINY paid traffic campaign I started this morning was enough, combined with the normal traffic the site was already receiving, to bring it completely down.

Just goes to show the power one can command when one knows how to get TONS of instant, targeted traffic cheap.

What, you don’t know how to choose a good affiliate offer?

Filed under: Marketing — macroking @ 6:05 pm

Man this guy is prolific!

Head over to my most favoritest new internet marketing blog, and give this particular post a good reading. It’s simple and to the point, but I think gives a nice overview of a subject that many people, including myself at times, get really hung up on. What offer should I promote and why??

Keep up the good work Derek, you’ve got one heck of a growing fan base - and for good reason!

My Newset Most Favoritest Net Marketing Blog

Filed under: Blog & Site Automation, Random Goodies, Marketing, Programming — macroking @ 9:18 pm

I found this blog when someone posted in the PPCF Forum about a new free version of SpeedPPC that someone had cooked up. Being a user of SpeedPPC myself and of course also a coder, I just HAD to check this out. I’ve got too much on my plate right this second to put it through its paces, but the overview sounds great and I’ve little doubt that it will be a very handy script indeed!

Check out the free PPC campaign builder now!

Tracking, Spying, and Landing Page Generation…

Filed under: Blog & Site Automation, Marketing — macroking @ 8:39 pm

I got an email asking me about these 3 topics and some specific tools, over on the Warrior Forum. I thought it was worth posting my reply here.

You mention 3 needs… tracking, spying, and landing page creation. For tracking, Affiliate Radar is the first such product I’ve used, and I’ve been totally blown away by the developers and their willingness to create exactly what their users want. I feel really confident in them and their ability to stay on the cutting edge - in no small part because Mark Roth is a PPC marketer himself (though in a MUCH bigger league than us little folk lol) and so he really does understand what marketers need and why.

PPC CPA Alphabet Soup??

Filed under: Macros & Scripting, Blog & Site Automation, Marketing — macroking @ 10:45 pm

So, a few months back I heard about this soon-to-be-released course all about marketing CPA offers (Cost Per Action for those who don’t know the lingo) via PPC traffic (Pay Per Click like Google Adwords, etc.) This was something that really interested me in no small part because I had some friends who had just made a BUNDLE of cash in a very short amount of time from CPA lead offers. They weren’t using PPC, but still… it intrigued me.

Project Black Mask is a Scam?

Filed under: Blog & Site Automation, Random Goodies, Marketing — macroking @ 5:26 pm

OK, no doubt if you’re reading this, you’ve probably been bombarded by marketers telling you to rush out and get your copy of Project Black Mask right away, before everyone else makes all the money and you’re left with nothing. Act now before the price goes up, blah blah blah.

Well, you KNOW I must have a strong opinion about this because I don’t just write product reviews of every little thing that comes along. But lest you think I’m going to shove my affiliate link in your face, and tell you to hurry up and get your copy before it’s too late…

Google Radio Ads, Is this new?

Filed under: Marketing — macroking @ 4:17 am

I swear this wasn’t in my adwords account yesterday, honestly. All I find in internet searches is very old articles from 2006 about Google stepping into this market, and now it’s available in my account. This opens up a HUGE exciting world… as someone who comes from a background in audio & video commercial production, I know the impact that audio advertising can have on people. I’m not yet sure how to incorporate this cost-effectively into affiliate marketing, but I’m excited at the possibilities. Imagine reaching people all over the country via Google Radio Ads when they’re in their cars, the mall, getting their oil changed, whatever. If we can just figure out how to drive them to an affiliate URL easily then this will be huge. Google Audio Ads… wow. Google is going to own all advertising soon I swear.

Tired of AdSense? Time to kick things up?

Filed under: Marketing — macroking @ 11:51 am

Whether you’re a portal builder who’s gotten hammered recently by yet another round of search engine changes, or you just want to add yet another stream of revenue to your online business… I think we all need to know more about selling products instead of just chasing clicks.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve certainly bought plenty of things through clickbank. I’ve even considered selling my own products that way. Then I start to think of all the time involved in creating the product, in putting up the web site, making all the order links & systems work properly, handling affiliates & customers, etc. Too much headache! So, I’ve not done it yet.

Valuable Content? Give me a break.

Filed under: Blog & Site Automation, Marketing — macroking @ 11:16 am

I’ve been intending to write something about this for a while now, but the subject came up today on one of the forums I frequent and so I pretty much said what I wanted to say. This is of course with regards to creating revenue generating “niche” websites. I don’t have a ton more to add really, so I’m just going to re-post it here verbatim (gee, I’m syndicating my own content… how novel!) Enjoy!

Good discussion…

I’d like to add a comparison - television.
